What is Osteoporosis?
Osteoporosis is a condition that causes the bones to weaken, making them prone to fractures and breaks. It is a condition that develops over several years and so it can often go undiagnosed. However, a simple fall or sudden impact that causes a bone fracture could indicate that the condition is present.
The condition often causes common injuries which are hip fractures, wrist fractures and spinal fractures. However, the condition can also affect other bones such as the arm or pelvis and even something as innocuous as a sneeze can cause a fracture.
